Henness & Haight is a Las Vegas personal injury law firm representing injured people throughout Clark County and Southern Nevada. Since 2000, our attorneys have handled car accidents, truck accidents, workers’ compensation claims, premises liability cases, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death claims, and other cases involving serious injuries.
What makes our firm different starts with how we understand the other side. Co-founders Michael D. Haight and Mark G. Henness both worked in defense before dedicating their practices to injured people, and several attorneys on our current team also have insurance-defense experience.

How Did Henness & Haight Get Started?
Michael D. Haight and Mark G. Henness founded Henness & Haight in 2000 after beginning their legal careers on the defense side of injury and insurance disputes.
Michael Haight has lived in Las Vegas since 1976 and graduated from Valley High School before attending the University of Nevada, Reno. After law school, he initially defended drivers in accident cases before switching sides in 1998 to represent injured people.
Mark Henness came to Las Vegas to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His early career included work at the Nevada Attorney General’s Office and later insurance-defense and insurance bad-faith defense before he became an owner and partner of Henness & Haight.
Our firm has since grown into a larger team of injury and litigation attorneys, including lawyers educated at the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV and attorneys who were raised in Las Vegas and Henderson.
What Sets Henness & Haight Apart?
Henness & Haight combines plaintiff-side injury experience with firsthand knowledge of how insurance companies defend claims. That experience isn’t limited to the firm’s founders. Several members of the team know the strategies insurers and defense lawyers can use because they have worked on that side of the courtroom.
Partner Jacob S. Smith previously litigated catastrophic injury claims for an insurance-defense firm, while Dallin Knecht previously defended corporations and individuals in premises and product liability cases.
