Donald H. Haight

Donald H. Haight was born and raised in New York State. Due to his father’s employment, he lived all over the state including Flushing, Utica, Kings Park, Ogdensburg, Gowanda and Buffalo. Mr. Haight graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a B.A. degree in 1970 and a J.D. degree in 1973.

After being admitted to practice law in New York in 1974, Mr. Haight served four years as a Captain in the United States Air Force in the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate. Mr. Haight was transferred to Nellis Air Force Base in 1976 and decided to make Nevada his home. He has been a practicing attorney in Nevada since 1977.

Mr. Haight is admitted to the State Bars of New York and Nevada and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the Federal District Court for the District of Nevada, all courts of the State of Nevada, the Nevada Gaming Commission, and the Las Vegas Paiute Tribal Court.

Mr. Haight practiced with the law firm of Keefer, O’Reilly & Haight where his practice ran the gamut of legal proceedings including civil law, insurance defense law, personal injury law, family law, criminal law, bankruptcy law, administrative law and appellate law. Mr. Haight served three separate terms at the Nevada Attorney General’s Office representing the Taxicab Authority, the State Board of Medicine, the State Board of Nursing, the Physical Therapy Board, the Board of Podiatry, the Board of Examiners for Social Workers and the Nevada State Welfare Division. Mr. Haight finished his stint at the Attorney General’s Office as Chief Deputy of the Las Vegas Office.

Additionally, Mr. Haight served as General Counsel for the Clark County School District and Executive Director of Contract Management for University Medical Center.
