A collision between a motorcycle and a car has resulted in one fatality and five injuries, one of which is in critical condition, according to Las Vegas Metro Police.

The crash occurred around 8:50 p.m. on Feb. 15 at Charleston Blvd. and Arville Street when the driver of a white car pulled in front of a motorcycle.

The 47-year-old motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the hospital, while his 30-year-old female passenger remains in critical condition.

Both the motorcycle driver and passenger were believed to have been wearing helmets and protective safety gear at the time of the accident.

The impact of the crash caused the motorcycle to break apart and spray fuel and other liquids onto the car, causing it to burst into flames.

The four occupants of the car were able to escape the vehicle without being burned and were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.

Experienced Las Vegas Motorcycle Accident Lawyers

Motorcycles do not offer riders any protection against dangerous hazards or oncoming vehicles when an accident occurs. The results are often devastating and may leave a surviving victim with long-lasting injuries or disabilities.

One of the most common causes of motorcycle accidents occurs when a vehicle pulls or turns in front of a motorcycle, leaving its driver with little or no time to react.
