Mark Henness and Mike Haight have been helping injured clients for nearly 30 years, and they’ve successfully settled thousands of car wreck cases. So when they say “help is here,” they know what they are talking about. As a helpful hint to anyone injured, they’ve distilled their initial advice to clients into the “10 H’s” to remember.

In addition to working with an experienced car accident attorney, use these 10 “H” principles to help make your case successful.

  1. Health first: Follow your doctors’ advice, go to all of your medical appointments and make sure to always tell your doctors exactly how you feel at each visit.
  2. Honestly communicate any and all pain you have to your doctor. Do not minimize your symptoms but never exaggerate them either.
  3. Hold off posting anything on social media. You can be certain that the insurance company lawyers will try to use your posts against you.
  4. Hang up if anyone calls to ask about your case. Remember, don’t ever talk to anyone about your case except us and your doctors.
  5. Hand over documentation you have about your case to our office. We will take it from there.
  6. Have a written record of any expenses related to your case. We will use it to make sure you get fully compensated.
  7. Have a written record of any work & wages missed due to your injury, but if you have no choice but to work make sure your doctors know how your work affects your symptoms.
  8. Heads up, you’re likely being videotaped by the insurance company. Don’t do anything that can be taken out of context by the insurance company later.
  9. Have patience. This is a proven process that gets maximum results. Remember, a quick settlement is usually not the best settlement.
  10. Help us help you. Open and honest dialogue with our office wins cases. And when in doubt always give us a call. We are here to help!
