Shawn L. Walkenshaw was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He grew up on the north-west side of the Las Vegas valley, which he still contends is the best side of town. Shawn graduated from Centennial High School, where he was a member of its first graduating class. After graduating from Centennial, Shawn attended the University of Nevada, Reno, where he studied economics and mathematics.
After returning to Las Vegas and spending several years in the finance industry, Shawn decided to attend law school. Shawn earned his law degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law in 2012, where he received multiple scholarships. While attending law school, Shawn was a judicial extern for the Honorable Mike K. Nakagawa of the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Nevada.
For several years, Shawn’s practice focused primarily on complex business disputes where he represented a range of businesses across various industries, including multinational computer technology companies and global financial institutions. While representing large business, Shawn took on a personal injury case and found he had a passion for representing people who have been hurt due to another’s negligence. Shawn joined Henness and Haight’s litigation team shortly thereafter, dedicating himself to providing injured parties the highest quality representation.
Shawn has experience in all aspects of the litigation process and has represented clients on appeal to both the Nevada Supreme Court and United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Shawn has been recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine as a “Rising Star” and a “Top Rated Civil Litigation Attorney in Las Vegas, NV.”
When he is not at work, Shawn enjoys spending time with his family, visiting old friends, and riding his motorcycle.
